About My Blog:

Do we need another youth ministry website?  After almost a decade in ministry to student I’ve realized that there are a lot of resources out there.  But, most of them require sifting through unneeded information and long articles.

That’s why I’m doing something different!  I’m giving you high quality articles that are to the point.  If you need more info, it’s there.  If you don’t, then you can go straight to the meat.  This is the stuff I wish we had when I first started.

There are three different blog categories to the right.  Each one has something a little different.

  1. Ministry to Students
  2. A Personal Note
  3. Games

Ministry to Students is my passion.  This is the big information in small articles.

A Personal Note is just that.  I love telling my story and hope to hear yours.  This is the place to share our experiences.

Games, there’s a reason we play them.  And, different types have different purposes.  I’ll give you just what you need for each game.  Not only that, I’ll give you the need-to-know so you can best utilize each type of game.

What are you going to do next to impact this generation?  Me?  I’m going to work on my next post.  Click the “follow” at the top left of your screen.  That way you know when it goes up.

Reading an Article:

Why should you read an article about how to read an article?  If you are working with youth, you don’t have much time.  Your job is important, and I want to help the best I can.  That’s why I write with a structure. No secret sauce here. I want you to know my structure.  It’ll help you get what you need with as little time invested as possible.

Here it is:

  • HOOK – The reason to keep reading.
  • FACT LIST – The key facts that you need.  They’ll be in a list.  Decide if you want to read the article….without having to read the article.
  • MEAT – The good stuff, with no fat.  Chew on it.
  • BOLD NUGGET – That one-sentence quote you want to put on Facebook.  It’ll be bold so you can find it right off.
  • ACTION STEP – I don’t want you to read my blog! I want you to change the world! So, each article ends with a next step.  If you don’t agree with my step, leave a comment.  Let me know.

Let’s get to it.  I’ll keep writing and you keep reading.  While this is fresh in your mind, read one of my other posts and look for the structure.  That way when you come back, you already know what to look for.  (Unless you don’t agree with this actions step, in which case leave a comment and let me know).
